Glazing in ceramics is always a blend of experience and luck.
It’s not just about the right mix – you also need the right density, timing, and temperature to achieve consistent results.Even the placement of each piece in the kiln makes a difference, as temperatures shift from top to bottom.On these platters, made with black and grey clay, the white stoneware glaze reveals different personalities:
sometimes it lets the clay shine through, while other times – with thicker layers – it creates that soft, white coverage.These subtle variations are what make handmade ceramics unique, authentic, and full of character.

We are in love with the outcome of this jug. Shaped on the potter’s wheel, it carries a traditional form full of volume and presence. We dressed it in a white matte, stone-like glaze and adorned it with free, expressive brushstrokes of iron red.
